Sustainable Community-Based Tourism Development

Started as a spontaneous group protecting the grey-shanked douc langur with four members in 2010. Now, a pioneer group has been officially established, with 19 members. To combine conservation of rare langur species, protection of natural resources and environment, and regeneration of forest environment with the need to develop sustainable livelihoods based on community-based tourism. Sustainable Community-Based Tourism Management Board in Tam My Tay has been established based on the group’s core aims. In 2023, Demo Tour will be launched. Welcome your participation! See you guys!

To contribute to the conservation of the grey-shanked douc langur population, Tam My Tay people (Nui Thanh, Quang Nam) are in need of support to develop their livelihoods and rationally use resources through the community-based tourism model.

Sustainable CBT in Tam My Tay is a project of EUNIC Vietnam and GreenViet, CAB Hoi An and Quang Nam Tourism Association. EUNIC – European Union National Institute of Culture – is Europe’s network of national cultural institutions and organizations, with 39 members from all EU Member States and associated countries. EUNIC Vietnam strives to build and develop partnerships of trust and mutual understanding between organizations of EU Member States and local communities; and promote cooperation for global sustainability.
